Music For The Children
In 1994 South Africa and its people experienced a miracle transformation which resulted in the birth of a true
democracy for the first time in South Africa‟s history. Today South Africa stands proud, occupying a meaningful
role amongst the nations of the world. South Africa however has large sections of its population that suffer
from extreme poverty, and it‟s often the children that suffer the most.
Gift 2 Hear
I am Tamara Luck and the founder of Gift 2 Hear Trust started in September 2007, raising awareness and funds
for the underprivileged deaf children in this country.
Hanré
Since his birth we suspected that our little boy, Hanré (3) was not able to hear our voices. In 2006 this was
confirmed and if we wanted to give him any hope of leading a normal life, he would have to undergo cochlear
implants.
Marks Park FC
When I started at Marks Park Municipals in early 2007, I had few players and lots of hope. It was likely to be
difficult to attract talent to a club with no obvious big sponsor or supporter like most of the clubs that we
were competing against. Despite being one of the country's oldest clubs and having produced many a fine soccer
team and player in its long history. Marks Park was also not deemed to be a 'fashionable' club anymore. Even
with all the adversity facing us my prayers were being answered soon after.
Tsholofelo Baby Sanctuary
It was a long time dream for me to be able to adopt an bandoned baby. From when our first biological child was
born. I was aware of what a tremendous privilege it was to be able to give that child everything he needed.
Not all mothers in the world are that fortunate.
